10TEN JHL LK125 17/14 Pit Bike
The 10TEN JHL LK125 17/14 is a proper step up for riders ready to move onto a manual pit bike, combining a manageable 125cc four-stroke engine with a full 4-speed manual gearbox, 17/14-inch wheels and a well-proportioned chassis.
At the heart of the LK125 is the HS125 four-stroke engine, producing 7.5hp and fed by a PE19 performance carburettor. Power delivery is kept usable and predictable, making this a bike that's easy to get to grips with while still having enough performance to keep things interesting as confidence grows.
A 4-speed manual gearbox and manual clutch give the rider full control and make the LK125 a natural progression from smaller automatic and semi-automatic bikes. There's no need to rely solely on the kickstarter either – the LK125 comes with both electric and kick start, backed up by a 5Ah gel battery.
Built to be ridden
The 17-inch front and 14-inch rear wheel combination gives the LK125 a great balance between agility and stability. It's still compact enough to feel like a pit bike, but the larger wheels deal with rough and uneven ground much better than the smaller wheel setups found on entry-level machines.
Up front there's a 35mm inverted fork, paired with a 340mm rear mono shock. The suspension is deliberately straightforward and non-adjustable, giving developing riders a simple, dependable setup without unnecessary complication.
Both wheels use upgraded aluminium alloy hubs and aluminium rims, with a 70/100-17 front and wider 90/100-14 rear off-road tyre. Wheel locks are fitted at both ends to help prevent tyre movement on the rim when running over rough terrain.
Stopping power comes from hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, giving the rider much better control than the drum brake setups commonly found on smaller recreational bikes.
More than just the basics
It's the smaller details that make the LK125 feel like a more grown-up machine.
An aluminium handlebar, forged alloy steering stem and folding polished levers give the cockpit a quality feel, while wide stainless steel footpegs provide a solid platform when riding standing up.
Underneath, a steel engine protector helps shield the bottom of the motor from knocks and debris. Drive is taken care of by a heavy-duty 428H Choho chain, running on 16-tooth front and 41-tooth rear steel sprockets.
There's also a stainless steel exhaust, CNC fuel tank vent, aluminium gear lever and an hour meter, making it easier to keep track of running time and stay on top of servicing.
With a 830mm seat height and 1250mm wheelbase, the LK125 sits in that useful middle ground between a small junior pit bike and a larger adult machine. For a rider who's ready for gears, a clutch and a bigger chassis, the 10TEN JHL LK125 17/14 is a great place to make that progression.
