The 10TEN JHL MK125 14/12 takes the same larger chassis used by the MK110 and adds a Zongshen/BS125 engine, manual clutch and four-speed gearbox. Producing a claimed maximum of 8.5 hp, it's designed as the next step for riders ready to move from a semi-automatic bike to a conventional manual-clutch setup.
With 14/12 wheels, a 750mm seat height and inverted front suspension, the MK125 keeps the manageable proportions of a mid-size pit bike while introducing the clutch and gear control found on the larger machines in the 10TEN JHL range.
Power comes from the Zongshen/BS125 four-stroke engine, paired with a four-speed manual transmission and PE19 carburettor. Both electric and kick start are fitted as standard, giving the convenience of push-button starting with a kick starter there as backup.
A Proper Introduction to a Manual Clutch
The biggest difference between the MK125 and MK110 is what happens at the controls.
The MK125 uses a conventional manual clutch, giving the rider full control over clutch engagement and gear changes. It's a natural progression for someone who's already comfortable with a semi-automatic bike and is ready to learn the clutch control they'll use on larger dirt and pit bikes.
Polished folding brake and clutch levers are fitted as standard, while the cockpit uses a forged alloy steering stem and black steel handlebar.
Mid-Size 14/12 Chassis
The MK125 runs a 14-inch front and 12-inch rear wheel combination, with a 750mm seat height and 1130mm wheelbase.
This gives it more room and ground-covering ability than the smaller SK models without jumping straight to the considerably taller 17/14 and full-size machines.
The wheels use black steel rims with silver aluminium hubs, fitted with Yuangxing 60/100-14 front and 80/100-12 rear tyres.
Inverted Suspension
Up front, the MK125 uses substantial 43/45mm inverted forks measuring 680mm, while the rear suspension incorporates CNC components and works with a steel swingarm.
Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes provide the stopping power, while stainless steel footpegs give the rider a solid platform when moving around on the bike.
A steel bottom protector adds protection underneath the engine when riding over rough ground.
Drive to the rear wheel is through a 428H Choho chain, with a 16-tooth steel front and 41-tooth steel rear sprocket.
A 3.5-litre fuel tank with CNC vent valve, 5Ah gel battery and hourmeter complete a straightforward specification focused on riding and easy maintenance.
Finished with a black frame, stainless steel and aluminium exhaust, and 10TEN + JHLOFR graphics, the MK125 combines a manageable mid-size chassis with the added involvement and control of a manual-clutch engine.
