The 10TEN JHL SK110 12/10 takes the compact platform of the SK range and adds a larger HS110 four-stroke engine, four-speed semi-automatic gearbox and 12/10 wheel combination, making it a natural step up for riders who are ready for gears but not yet ready to manage a manual clutch.
Producing a claimed maximum of 7 hp, the HS110 gives the SK110 a useful increase in performance while retaining the manageable 630mm seat height and 1015mm wheelbase of the smaller SK chassis.
The biggest difference for the rider is the four-speed semi-automatic transmission. Gears are selected using the foot-operated gear lever, just like a conventional geared bike, but there's no manual clutch lever to operate. This allows the rider to learn gear selection and become comfortable with a geared bike without having to coordinate a clutch at the same time.
Both electric and kick start are fitted as standard, combining push-button convenience with the reassurance of a kick starter as a backup. Fuelling is handled by a PZ19 carburettor, while the compact 3.5-litre fuel tank features a CNC vent valve.
Compact 12/10 Chassis
The SK110 runs a 12-inch front and 10-inch rear wheel combination, giving it a larger front wheel than the SK70 while maintaining the same compact overall dimensions.
The 12-inch front helps the bike roll more easily over bumps and uneven ground, while the 10-inch rear keeps the seat height down at an accessible 630mm. The wheels use tough black steel rims with silver aluminium hubs and are fitted with Yuangxing 2.50-12 front and 3.00-10 rear tyres.
Straightforward 33mm telescopic front suspension is paired with rear suspension suited to the compact chassis, keeping the setup simple and easy to maintain.
Ready for the Next Step
Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes provide the stopping power, while stainless steel footpegs give the rider a secure platform when sitting or standing on the bike.
A steel bottom protector provides additional protection underneath the engine, and drive to the rear wheel is handled by a heavy-duty 428H Choho chain, running a 14-tooth steel front and 39-tooth steel rear sprocket.
An hourmeter comes fitted as standard, making it easy to keep track of engine running time and stay on top of routine servicing.
Finished with a black frame, black steel handlebars, steel and aluminium exhaust, and 10TEN + JHLOFR graphics, the SK110 bridges the gap between a simple automatic starter bike and the larger manual-clutch machines in the range. The semi-automatic four-speed gearbox gives the rider something new to learn without introducing everything at once.
