The 10TEN JHL LK140 17/14 takes the compact, easy-to-handle pit bike platform and gives it a useful step up in power with a Zongshen W140 four-stroke engine producing 9.5 hp.
Paired with a four-speed manual gearbox and manual clutch, the LK140 is aimed at riders who want the involvement of a proper geared pit bike and a little more performance to play with. A PE22 carburettor complements the larger engine, while both electric and kick start are fitted as standard, giving you the convenience of push-button starting with a kick starter there as a backup.
With a 1250mm wheelbase, 830mm seat height and 17-inch front / 14-inch rear wheels, the LK140 keeps the proportions of a traditional mid-size pit bike. The larger front wheel helps it roll through ruts and rougher ground, while the 14-inch rear keeps the bike compact and responsive.
Up front is a 35mm inverted fork, paired with a 340mm rear mono shock. Both are non-adjustable, keeping the suspension straightforward and easy to live with. The bike runs upgraded aluminium alloy hubs and aluminium 17/14 rims, fitted with 70/100-17 front and 90/100-14 rear Yuangxing tyres. Wheel locks are fitted at both ends to help prevent tyre movement on the rim when riding at lower pressures.
Stopping is handled by front and rear hydraulic disc brakes, while the cockpit gets an aluminium alloy handlebar, forged alloy steering stem and polished folding brake and clutch levers.
The rest of the bike has been kept practical. A steel engine protector gives the underside of the motor some extra protection, while stainless steel footpegs provide a solid platform for the rider. Drive is through a heavy-duty 428H Choho chain, with a 16-tooth steel front and 41-tooth steel rear sprocket.
A 6-litre plastic fuel tank gives the LK140 plenty of capacity for a pit bike of this size and is finished with a CNC vent valve. An hourmeter is also fitted as standard, making it much easier to keep track of running time and stay on top of servicing.
Finished with a black frame, stainless steel exhaust and 10TEN + JHLOFR graphics, the LK140 is a simple, well-specced 140cc pit bike built around a proven Zongshen engine.
