10TEN JHL LX300 21/18 Dirt Bike
The 10TEN JHL LX300 21/18 sits at the serious end of the new 10TEN JHL range. With a 30 hp water-cooled YBS300 Pro engine, six-speed manual gearbox, full-size 21/18 wheels and multi-adjustable suspension, this is a much bigger and more capable machine than the smaller pit bikes in the line-up.
At its heart is the new YBS300 Pro water-cooled engine, producing a claimed maximum of 30 hp. It's paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and PWK34 carburettor, giving the LX300 the power and gearing to make proper use of its full-size chassis. Electric start comes as standard, powered by a 12V 5Ah gel battery.
The LX300 is a physically bigger bike too. A 960mm seat height and 1500mm wheelbase, combined with full-size 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, give it the proportions and riding position expected from a full-size off-road machine.
Adjustable Suspension
Suspension is one of the areas where the LX300 really steps things up.
Up front are substantial 54/60mm inverted forks with 950mm length, using a single-chamber design with three-way adjustment. At the rear, an externally-reservoired shock provides dual adjustment, working through an aluminium alloy linkage system.
This gives the rider considerably more scope to fine-tune the suspension than on the smaller, non-adjustable models in the 10TEN JHL range.
An aluminium alloy welded swingarm further separates the LX300 from the steel swingarms used on the smaller machines.
Full-Size 21/18 Wheel Setup
The LX300 runs UNISON aluminium rims with upgraded aluminium hubs and wheel locks at both ends.
They're fitted with CORDIAL 80/100-21 front and 110/100-18 rear tyres, giving the bike the full-size wheel combination suited to rougher off-road terrain.
Power is transferred through a heavy-duty 520 Choho chain, with a 13-tooth steel front and 49-tooth steel rear sprocket.
Built Around the Rider
The cockpit uses an upgraded aluminium steering stem and Series 6 aluminium alloy handlebar, while wide stainless steel footpegs provide a secure platform when riding standing up.
Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes are fitted, together with GG-grade brake pads. The rear brake pedal, gear lever and side stand are all aluminium alloy, helping give the LX300 a noticeably higher-spec finish than the smaller bikes in the range.
A large 9-litre fuel tank provides useful capacity for longer riding sessions, while the fitted hourmeter makes it straightforward to keep track of running time and servicing.
An LED headlight and front number plate are also standard equipment, while the radiator receives its own plastic protective cover.
Finished with a black frame, stainless steel and aluminium exhaust, aluminium chassis components and 10TEN + JHLOFR graphics, the LX300 is aimed at riders wanting the size, power and adjustability of a full-size dirt bike rather than a traditional pit-bike platform.
